Alive but barely kickin'

yeah, i'm alive but some days are tougher than others. this post will be short and sweet.... i've been out of commission, had wrist surgery and just trying to recover. so no knitting goin' on here, just dreaming about knitting..... i ask you...what is life without knitting????? although i do have a few things on needles waiting for the day when i can knit. each week i place the needles in my hand without success, i'm guessing i should be able to knit in one month. this set back has not stopped me from buying yarn though, just getting ready. next post i will show you my most extravagant purchase yet. i did buy a set of knitpicks circulars, beautiful, just beautiful.....

i'm have no choice but to type with my left hand, actually everything is done lefty....which is not easy for a righty. here's a pic of my constant companion. see you in october....

Playing "Catch Up"

Yeah! that's what I'm doing, it's been nearly three weeks since I blogged but for good reason. After and HUGE storm I didn't have phone service for a week (that's life in God's country). Once that was repaired I spent a few day replacing the modem and surge protector which was fried during the storm. The lightning hit the phone line and actually melted a three foot section of cable. Once that situation was rectified I've been switching over to gmail which is great so far. It's taking quite a while since I had three email addresses.

I'm a Great Aunt, here's a pic of beautiful Hannah Grace and her parents moments after her birth. Just look at those happy faces!

Family

Today was a good day. My sister and brother-in-law are visiting from NC, they're camping out on the sleep sofa a few days. It's been six months since I've seen her, I wish she still lived just down the road instead of 750 miles away. But she's happy in her new home and hey! she's a new grandma. Our family welcomed Hannah Grace on April 2.

We had a nice family dinner, my Mom, my kids, and my sister. What could be finer. The weather was iffy, some rain, some sun, actually very little sun. When the wind kicked up we got out the kites and par for the course the wind died down but that's OK it was still fun!

I'm almost finished with the Lotorp Bag, I work on it while I'm online. I live in the country, in "God's country", that's what I call it because it's beautiful out here. So back to my point, I will never be able to have DSL, can you imagine? While web pages are loading, I knit! knit! and knit! Just have to work the handle, it's a beauty, pictures will follow when it's done.

Too many irons in the fire

Too many irons in the fire....that's me! Right now I have seven WIP's. I like to change things up so I don't get bored. Who could be bored while knitting? Not me! So the question of the day is "what's coverning my couch?" The Larger Than Life Bag is coming along nicely, the squares are finished thanks to the help of my buddy. Yeah, Jax is a BIG help, chewing on the yarn, attacking my work as though it's a living creature that needs to be stilled.

Larger Than Life

Simply put I am a knitter....I knit daily....I LOVE knitting. My heart skips a beat with every new yarn, book or pattern, just can't get enough. If only I could knit faster!

Yeah Yeah I know those are granny squares. Am I the only knitter who secretly likes to crochet? I have a passion for granny squares, the girl can't help it! The current issue of Interweave Crochet has a pattern for a Larger Than Life Bag, in granny squares! Joy! Joy! Joy! My bag is in autumnal colors, I know... I know...spring has barely sprung and I'm already thinking fall. Just being proactive, much better than procrastinating. I am sooooo psyched over this bag I'll have to make a smaller summer version too, the girl can't help it!
